Field Trip From Mile2 To Marina

 

The Lagos state government just commissioned a multi billion dollar rail project. Which spans from Badagry to the Island.

In this article I will be covering my experience at the Rail station.

Upon arrival at the terminal by10:07, we waited at the terminal for a few minutes.

From that point I started brainstorming potential business ideas that could arise from the journey. 

And here comes my First observation: 

After walking under the scorching sun, Quite alot of people got so tired and dehydrated and to make matter worse there was no water available for purchase to quench peoples thirst. 

This observation led me to considering this as a Business I can leverage on seeing it as an opportunity to give real solution to the real problem of people by producing table water and supplying it to the station for travelers to purchase, they can then dispose immediately after use.

Another thing I discovered is that eating is strictly prohibited in the library due to the strong scent of food and may attract rodents such as rats and insects. 

And  I think this can be addressed by creating  a separate room or area for eating away from the library area to prevent the spread of food odor from spreading. a clear sign indicating "Eating area" should be posted to guide.

business idea 2: I thought of hiring and training hostesses to ensure the comfort of every customer on the train. These hostesses would be responsible for providing snacks and water to those who may become journey sick, as well as ensuring the train is tidy after everyone alights. 

This is because Many train passengers experience journey sickness during their travels due to The lack of accessibility to basic amenities like snacks and water can exacerbate this issue, leading to discomfort and potential health concerns. Such issues can be particularly distressing, especially for those on long journeys. They can also ensure that the train is kept clean.

Additionally in order to be able to improve customer satisfaction I will build a good feedback system where passengers can provide feedback this can be through app or website.

How i will generate revenue is by Partnering with the train operators and charge them a monthly or annual subscription fee to provide host/hostess services on the trains and also introducing ticket surcharge from passengers in exchanged for this enhanced comfort.

We boarded the train promptly at 10:31am, but it didn't depart until 10:39am. After discussing our business ideas, we arrived at the Marina train terminal. We took a moment to

observe our surroundings before hopping on the next train back to Mile2 at 11:12. The train departed shortly after, at 11:15, and we reached Mile2 by 11:40.

Honestly, it was a remarkable journey. Initially, I was hesitant about the trip, but I'm grateful to our facilitator for making it a requirement. This experience was particularly enlightening for me.
